Sovereign Citizens: Darn It, There's Nothing We Can Do!

Bizarro Little Rock, AK (BP)- A court dismissed charges on a rural Arkansas couple who plotted violent acts against police officers, and the reason might surprise you.

Clem Joebobson stood in the Little Rock courtroom wearing a head-to-toe Realtree Mossy Oak ensemble, which is the official uniform of his sovereign state, The United Mobile Homes of Joebobson,

Judge John Silver began with the routine line of questioning. "Mr. Joebobson, you have been charged with making terroristic threats against a peace officer. Do you understand these charges and your rights as a defendant?"

"I am not a citizen of the United States, and I am not bound by its laws," replied Joebobson. "In fact, terroristic threatening is a national past-time in my nation."

The judge recoiled. "No! You're not saying!"

"Oh, but I am," Joebobson replied, "I'm a sovereign citizen."

"Nooooooo!!!" Judge Silver cried in anguish.

Clem and Joeleene Joebobson were freed within half an hour.

More and more citizens have become enticed to join the sovereign citizen movement, if only for the benefits it provides. When a citizen declares themselves sovereign, that means they are no longer bound by the laws that other Americans must follow. However, should that sovereign citizen wish to apply for SNAP, welfare, or disability, that remains an option as long as you don't talk about it with the other heavily armed cultists in your compound.

"It really gets my goat," said Justice Department head Eric Holder. "All they have to do is wave the sovereign citizen card and they're untouchable! I can't believe that actually works, and isn't something that only delusional idiots do before being dragged away by annoyed police!"
