Bizarro Newport, TN (BP)- Child Support Magistrate Le Ann Ballew initiated a nationwide controversy after ordering that the first name of baby Kanye Deshawn McCullough be changed during a hearing on the baby's surname.
"The name 'Kanye' is a title and it's a title that has only be earned by one person and that one person is Yeezus," Judge Ballew run-on-sentence'd. "It's going to make it hard for him to maintain a Twitter account with a name like that, and he has no say in the matter at this point."
What the judge may not realize, however, is that Kanye rose in the male baby naming list from #480 in 2012 to #347 in 2013. Jacob and Sophia were at the top of the American list for 2012.
The most popular names for 2012 births in England and Wales were Harry and Amelia. In London, Muhammad was the most popular name for boys, and I'm sure they're super thrilled about that.
